Achen is a graduate in Computer Engineering from Columbia University and completed his theological studies from Kottayam Orthodox Theological Seminary (2004-2009). In March, 2008, His Grace Mathews Mar Barnabas ordained Achen as a “Sub-Deacon” (“Yawpodhiyakono”) in the presence of H.G. Zachariah Mar Nicholovos. Later, he completed Masters in Sacred Theology (S.T.M) from Union Theological Seminary, NY.
In Dec, 2011, he was ordained as Deacon (“Semassan”) and in April, 2012 was ordained as “Priest” ( “Kaseeso”) by the hands of H.G. Zachariah Mar Nicholovos. He served as the Vicar of St. Paul’s Indian Orthodox Church in Albany NY since 2012 until and most recently as of May 2017, his appointment as Assistant Vicar of this Parish, St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church Philadelphia.
Achen is married to Deepa Kochamma (who is Deepa Ninan, home parish is St. John’s Orthodox Church, Upper Darby).
